Fighting against the wind
Since some days the Nordlys is fighting against the south westerly wind to make her way out of the North Sea to the English Channel, heading to Santander in Spain.
Once again, the patient sailor will get the good wind. Veering to west the wind allows us to head almost in the eye of the tidal stream. Running like a rolling belt, the Nordlys is waiting for low tide when the current will switch the direction. We'll probably pass the Strait of Dover tomorrow morning, supported by a wind coming from north west. That’s the plan for this night.
